Feast of the Dormition

The Feast of the Dormition was joyfully celebrated by the parish of the Holy Martyrs and Confessors of  Russia in Buena, New Jersey.  His Grace, Archbishop Vladimir served the All Night Vigil on the eve of the Feast and the Liturgy the following morning.  Parishioners came from far and wide.  The choir was presided over by Matushka Adelaida Nekludoff.  In his sermon, Archbishop Vladimir reminded us of how we ask the saints to "Pray to God for us," but to the Theotokos we address the prayer, "Most Holy Theotokos, save us!" reminding us of the power of the most pure Mother of God to win the Master's favor on our behalf.

The trapeza was enjoyed by all, providing us with the opportunity to converse and learn news of  the Church as a whole.  We rejoiced to hear that another priest was ordained in Mansonville at Transfiguration and shared photographs taken by those who were able to attend.  That evening, Archbishop Vladimir served the Vigil Service of the Image of Our Lord followed by the Liturgy on the next day.
