Bishop Alexei's Nativity Epistle
Bishop Alexei's Nativity Epistle
"Christ is born, glorify Him!"
More than two thousand years ago these words sounded in the quiet of the Nativity night, announcing the nearing of the end of the unlighted night of sin, despondency and disobedience to God, which started from the moment of our forefathers fall into sin and reached its peak at that time.
The Creator and Master of the entire universe, as a token of love to its creation, becomes man. He descended from Heaven so that through His Birth, life on earth, redemptive suffering, death and Resurrection to open the way to Heaven for each one of us. How can we respond to such a great gesture of love to us from the Lord? Only one way: remain true to His way which He traversed from the Bethlehem manger to Golgotha, as it was done by thousands and thousands of saints before us. Resembling the stars, which studded the Nativity night, the souls of these righteous shone in the spiritual Heaven, to this day showing the true path to all that seek salvation.
I wish to all the children of our Church that the soft light of Nativity's happiness can warm their souls and hearts as long as possible, and that the light of the Bethlehem star could serve as a reliable beacon in the midst of the stormy sea of life.
