Church Blessing in Cleveland

On January 08/21 His Grace Archbishop Vladimir celebrated the lesser blessing of a new Church in Cleveland Ohio - dedicated to All Saints. Concelebrating were Priest Sergei Bolter, Priest Andrei Gritsko and Deacon Sergei Agou. This beautiful new Church has come by the grace of God and the efforts of Father Sergei, Matushka Vera and the parishioners. The event was attended by faithful from Toronto who were joyously accomodated by the parishioners. Wonderfully the same day saw the first Baptism in the new Church, that of the infant Sophia. On the following day, Sunday, Divine Liturgy was celebrated by Vladika and the attending clergy.

Many years to Father Sergei, Matushka and the parishioners!

Archbishop Vladimir's Visit to Australia, an article by Fr. Vladimir Tsukanov

The long absence of a Russian Orthodox Bishop to the Australian continent ended on November 5, 2011. The lawful order of two parishes of the Church Abroad was restored as we returned to the Omophorion of Archbishop Vladimir of Western America and San Francisco. This is the essence of this present article.
Following the fall of the ROCA into union with the MP, no true Russian Hierarch had been present in Australia. There was also no viable Episcopacy of the Serbian or Greek Churches. All departed into ecumenism - into heresy. The falling away was so unbelievably concerted, friendly and rapid. The visit of our Bishop of the Church Abroad is, as such, very significant to us.

Archbishop Vladimir visits Australia

During October and November of this year, His Grace Archbishop Vladimir visited Australia accompanied by Ilya Kornishin, a reader at the St. Seraphim parish in Montreal, as well as the Warden, Anatole Lebedev.

In Sydney they were greeted at the airport by Archpriest Peter Semovskih, Priest Vladimir Tsukanov and some parishioners.

A Letter from Russia on the Seizure of an Orthodox Church by Heretics

Good day, Dear to the Lord!

I am writing to you as the temporary Rector of the Church of the Protection of the Theotokos, Ulyanov Province.

This is a pre-revolutionary Church. In 1906, traveling by means of the Volga, St. John
Of Krondstadt served here. After 1917 the Church was turned into a club and in time fell into disrepair. Local faithful long petitioned the MP that services recommence in the Church, but to no avail. In 2009 the building was deemed "not economically viable," a Protocol dissolving the Parish Council was issued and the structure left to fate.

Celebration of the Transfiguration of Our Lord

This past Sunday, we celebrated as is traditional, the feast day of the Transfiguration of our Lord at the Skete dedicated to that feast in Mansonville. His Grace Archbishop Vladimir presided, along with clergy from Montreal. Faithful from both the US and Canada were in attendance. Following the Liturgy there was a procession to the monastery pond where Vladika blessed the waters. Following, there was a Litia at the grave of His Beatitude Met. Vitaly. Vladika Vladimir blessed all the graves with the newly sanctified water. As traditional, the sisterhood offered all in attendance a Lenten and delectable meal. Accompanying this, conversation on a spiritual theme, went long into the evening. The faithful then dispersed little by little to their homes, with the embedded feeling of the grace filled feast day. Each year this celebration of this feast day at the Skete is different. Yet each year, those in attendance retain spiritual fulfillment. Our Lord alone knows how much longer we will have this blessed time to openly worship Him. While we have this opportunity, we will proclaim and maintain this spiritual joy, as witness to the entire world.

Conference of the Northern Russian Diocese

On July 17, 2011 the commemoration of the Holy Royal Martyrs, a conference of the Northern Russian Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad was held in the Church of the Royal Martyrs and New Martyrs of Russia in St. Petersburg. It is noteworthy that this is the first such meeting in an extended period of time and may be considered in some ways historical.
